Swansea City-Manchester United Preview

They may be desperate for different reasons, but the levels of urgency will certainly be sky-high at Old Trafford on Sunday, where an undermanned Manchester United side desperately need a win for their top-four hopes against a Swansea City side fighting for their Premier League survival.

The twists and turns of Jose Mourinho's first season at United continued with Thursday's fractious derby draw at the Etihad against Manchester City. While his team did not "park the bus," it was clear Manchester United (17-13-3) were playing not to lose. That took on greater importance in the 84th minute after Marouane Fellaini succumbed to the red mist and headbutted Sergio Aguero, forcing the Red Devils to play the last 12 minutes, including stoppage time, with 10 men.

The upshot of the scoreless draw was that United remained one point behind their eternal rivals for the fourth and final Champions League spot. They also crept within two points of third-place Liverpool, over whom they have a match in hand.
