Live Commentary
Summary: Marquez clinched his fourth MotoGP title while teammate Pedrosa won the race to round off a perfect day for Repsol Honda at the Valencia GP. It was always a long shot for Dovizioso but whatever hope was left, was lost after both he and his teammate crashed out in separate incidents late in the going.

After leading most of the way, Zarco was once again denied his first win after Pedrosa overtook him on the final lap.

Rins brought home a very respectable fourth, ahead of Rossi. Iannone was sixth, ahead of Miller, Crutchlow, Pirro and Rabat rounding out the top-10.

That brings our coverage for the year to an end. Join us here again next year for what is surely to be another exciting season of MotoGP!
Lap 30: FINAL LAP Pedrosa dives inside Zarco in Turn 1 for the lead! Into the final sector and Zarco has nothing for Pedrosa. He will be denied that first win again. PEDROSA WINS Marquez wins the 2017 MotoGP title! Celebrations all around in the paddock as the Ducati boys sportingly congratulate their Honda colleagues. Marquez rolls a giant dice with fans and it's a six! Will his luck ever end? What a day for the 24-year old phenom!
Lap 29: Pedrosa fakes a look inside Zarco for the lead but Zarco wants his first win too badly to succumb to that!
Lap 28: A few tears from Dovizioso but with a smile on his face. He knows he gave it his all, as did the team. Pedrosa is starting to hound Zarco again.
Lap 27: Dovizioso returns to the pits to applause from his team and an embrace from Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali.
Lap 26: Marquez is flashed the message about Dovizioso's crash as the Ducati crew men hug and console each other in the pits for what was a remarkable title effort. Pedrosa took the lead momentarily but it's Zarco back out in front.
Lap 25: Lorenzo crashes in Turn 5! He will finish without a victory for the first time since 2005! DOVIZIOSO DOWN! That is an ignominious end to his title hope.
Lap 24: No sooner did Marquez take the lead, than he runs wide and takes a trip through the gravel. He is able to hold on and rejoin in P5, title lead still safe but no chance of victory after that!
Lap 23: Marquez sees the opportunity and pounces on Zarco for the race lead! Zarco's soft front tyre is likely starting to give up now.
Lap 22: In all fairness, Lorenzo is starting to whittle the gap to Pedrosa but try telling that to Ducati boss Luigi Dall'Igna!
Lap 21: The team orders go up again for Lorenzo but he disobeys and continues to stay in front of Dovizioso.
Lap 20: The racer in Marquez is starting to come alive now. Despite the title being on the line, he momentarily gets by Zarco into the race lead before Zarco lunges back inside.
Lap 19: The Ducati crewmen seem exasperated at Lorenzo's reluctance to concede P4 to Dovizioso.
Lap 18: Dovizioso is swarming all over the rear end of Lorenzo through the turns but so far Lorenzo does not budge.
Lap 17: Pedrosa shaves two-tenths off Marquez. Could the points leader be starting to struggle?
Lap 16: "Hmm, this Dovizioso and Lorenzo relationship could be a bit tense after the race!" tweets Karun Chandok.
Lap 15: Pedrosa is some ways behind teammate Marquez but doing a good job of keeping the Ducati duo at bay. Bautista's nightmare season comes to an end with a crash in Turn 1. That's his second of the day, after going down in Turn 6 earlier.
Lap 14: As long as Dovizioso is P12 or better, Marquez cannot afford to take a chance with overtaking Zarco. Will Zarco finally get his first win?
Lap 13: 'Mapping 8' shows up on Lorenzo's dashboard! Is that code for 'let Dovizioso through?'
Lap 12: Rossi has picked off Iannone for P6 after the latter had regained the position.
Lap 11: Abraham has a big moment and drops down to P16. Vinales' qualifying struggles have continued into the race, as he languishes down in P14.
Lap 10: Rossi is now on Iannone's tail, battling for P6, as Miller joins the fray also. Marquez would win the title by 30 points, as things stand now.
Lap 9: Tech3 Yamaha's Herve Poncheral is a bundle of nerve up on the pit-wall as his rider Zarco is on course for a long-elusive first career victory.
Lap 8: Michael van der Mark is making only his second MotoGP start, currently running in P17. A couple more retirements and he could sneak into the points.
Lap 7: Rossi picks off Miller for P7. Ducati will likely not enforce team orders unless something drastic happens to Marquez's race.
Lap 6: Dovizioso will be starting to mutter a few choice words inside that helmet as he once again tries and fails to pass his teammate Lorenzo.
Lap 5: Aleix Espargaro is the third faller of the race. He Spaniard has gone down in Turn 3. Out in clean air, Zarco sets the fastest lap. It is turning into a race of attrition as Redding suffers a nasty crash in Turn 1.
Lap 4: Fastest lap from Dovizioso but he is still trying to find a way past Ducati teammate Lorenzo. New leader! It's Zarco taking the lead from Marquez.
Lap 3: Zarco clearly means business and will be hoping to cash in on Marquez's cautionary ride today. Kallio has crashed out in Turn 2. Tough end to the Finn's rookie season.
Lap 2: Bautista has crashed out in Turn 6. Zarco with a ruthless scythe up the inside of Pedrosa to move up into P2! Title contender Dovizioso is up to P6 after starting P9.
Lap 1: The red lights go out and the Valencia Grand Prix is GO!! Marquez get the hole shot into Turn 1, followed by his wingman Pedrosa. That's the start Repsol Honda wanted to see. Iannone holds P3 for now but Zarco is nipping at his heels.
Preview: Hello and welcome to Valencia for the grand finale of the 2017 MotoGP season! Having failed to clinch the world title at the previous round, thanks to a winning drive from title rival Dovizioso, Marquez will be hoping to seal the deal today. The track favours the Spaniard, as was clearly evident during qualifying, where he snatched pole position while Dovizioso only managed a disappointing ninth. Built in 1999, the anti-clockwise circuit is made up of mostly slow, technical bends but finished off with a challenging, high-speed sweeper leading into the final turn. Will Marquez be champion today? Or will the racing gods roll a lucky dice for Dovizioso? Tune in at 1 PM GMT to find out!
